Bat Services: Mitigation and Habitat Design

What is Mitigation and Habitat Design?

Where a proposed Development has an impact upon bats, either their roosts or their foraging and commuting habitat, a proportionate degree of compensation and mitigation is often required.

The scale of compensation and mitigation required will vary from scheme to scheme - removal of transient roosting opportunities could be addressed through the installation of appropriate bat boxes whilst loss of significant roosts or foraging resources may require more extensive measures.

How can LSC help?

Our team at LSC has extensive experience of designing and specifying compensation and mitigation measures to address a wide range of impacts.

We look at each scheme individually, and consider objectively the requirements to ensure that the impacts are offset. There are a range of options available and we will work with your site, your budget and your constraints to ensure that the solution is optimal for both the client and the local bat populations.
