Reptile Services - Site Supervision

What is Site Supervision for Reptiles?

UK legislation protects reptiles from killing and injuring. If your site has a reptile population upon it, which is likely to be impacted by site clearance and development proposals, it may be necessary for an Ecologist to undertake supervision of initial habitat clearance works, either instead of, or following, a translocation exercise.

Supervision would allow an Ecologist to provide advice and direction on how to undertake site clearance works in such a way as to minimise risk to reptiles, whilst carrying out inspections of locations where reptiles might be found. This means that your development site can be cleared with confidence that your contractors are working within the law to avoid killing or injuring our native reptile species.

How can LSC help?

We have a good track record of providing supportive and pragmatic supervision services when undertaking site clearance works with regards to all common UK reptile species. We would bring this experience to your site, to ensure that your works can take place as quickly and effectively as possible whilst ensuring that reptiles are identified and protected if present.
